Protocol Education are working with a school in Barnsley who are after an inclusion support worker to support their students aged 5 to 19 with a range of SEMH (Social, Emothional and Mental Health) needs who may also have other complex needs such as ASC (autism spectrum condition), ADHD and developmental delay.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday. This is a long term role with the opportunity to go permanant at a later date.

The school:

Wonderful outdoor facilitiesincluding a farm for animal therapy
Teach the students skills to become meaningful members of society
Set high goals and expectations for the students
The curriculum is tailored to the needs and interests of the students
Work hard to reduce learning barriers

Responsibilities:

Support students in their personal and educational development
Handle challenging behaviours and deescalate situations
Quickly build rapport with the students
Spend time outdoors with the students
Work as a team with the teacher and other staff members

Requirements:

Experience working with students with ASC
Confidently be able to handle challenging behaviours
Have a nurturing and patient personality
Use an innovative approach to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
