Byron Wood Academy have an exciting opportunity for a
Head Cook to join their team on a term time basis.

As an essential member of the catering team, you will thrive in a busy environment, be adaptable and flexible and will support colleagues to maintain high professional standards.

As Head Cook you will:

Work as part of a team preparing and serving fresh, interesting and nutritious school meals within budget
Work in accordance with the school food standards, allowing for allergen issues, ensuring full adherence to recipes, food presentation standards and portion control
Ensure that work is carried out hygienically, safely and tidily at all times within the prevailing legislative framework
Lead and organise the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Manager.

Relevant experience in a similar role
Excellent organisational skills
The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst paying close attention to detail
Relevant Food Safety and Hygiene certificates
Evidence of recent inservice training and professional development.
