Portfolio CFO | Sustainable Biotechnology Business | Remote & Outside IR35


Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working alongside a leading VC-backed agritech business in their search for a fractional Chief Financial Officer.


Having already completed a Series A fundraise, securing an impressive £5million, our client is looking for a hands-on CFO to help guide them on their step to the next fundraise.

They have a real sense of purpose with sustainability at the core of all theydo.


The role

  • Preparation for the next fundraise.
  • Supporting Founders with financefocussed strategic input.
  • Financial modelling and analysis with insights on guiding the company's growth.
  • Investor relations support and Board Pack creation.
BAU finance is outsourced to a third-party company.


What our client would like to see (essential):

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a prerevenue/R&Dphase business.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven recent experience of responsibility for financial controls.
  • Fundraising experience.
  • Ambitious and 'understands' the 'chaos' that life in a startup involves

What we'd like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience working in a rapid growth agritech or foodtech SME.
  • Experience leading on fundraising and a company audit.

Day Rate:
£ per day (outside of IR35)


Working pattern:2 days per week (likely to increase as they approach fundraise)
