Ready to start solving problems that matter?

We are looking for a user-focused and pragmatic Product Owner to work alongside our customers and our talented team of multi-disciplinary engineers to deliver effective software solutions.

Key areas of responsibility:

NOTE:
If you feel that you don't meet all the criteria included above but have transferable skills and relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you

As Rowden's Product Owner, you will be responsible for:

  • Prioritising product features and capabilities, and owning and driving the product backlog.
  • Working in close partnership with the engineering development team, leading in sprint planning and making decisions when reprioritisation or requirement changes arise.
  • Acting as the owner/champion for the product, setting appropriate product development methods, tools and techniques.
  • Liaising with customers, users and internal stakeholders, acting as an advocate for the user, customer and business.
  • Analysing market and/or user research, eliciting user requirements, collecting feedback, expert opinion and other data to understand needs and opportunities.
  • Designing, wireframing and presenting compelling user interface journeys.
  • Creating, maintaining and leading a product road map based on the product vision that is aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development.
  • Leading, monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
  • Developing scope and defining backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team.
  • Solving productrelated problems and completing tradeoff analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
  • Work closely with product management and senior management in order to create a product that fits the company portfolio and meets customer needs.

Key skills, experience and behaviours:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and who actively invests in their technical skills and abilities.

You'll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • A passion for technology and creating products that people want to use.
  • A selfstarter who leads the team and is happy to get stuck in as and when the team needs them.
  • A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • An appreciation of good UX, and its impact on product success.
  • A solid understanding of crafting acceptance criteria and working with crossfunctional teams to develop these further.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills your role will involve lots of communication tasks from articulating your vision, documenting product knowledge, engaging people internally and externally to running workshops and demos.
  • Excellent team and relationshipbuilding skills, with both internal and external parties (customers, engineers, business stakeholders, partners, etc.).
  • Deep understanding and experience with Agile methodologies within a tech focused environment.
  • Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A deep desire to understand the technologies used to inform our products.

Working at Rowden:

We also recognise the importance of flexible working and support this wherever we can.

We typically operate a flexible, hybrid-working model, with an average 3 days in the office each week (dependent on the role).

We welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility, part-time working requirements and/or workplace adjustments with all our applicants.

Finally, if you feel that you don't meet all the criteria included above but have transferable skills and relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you

About Rowden:

Our Mission:

To create the best possible technology for frontline operators.

We're upending the conventions of government technology provision and bringing a leaner, more transparent, and lower-friction approach that reduces waste and places outcome over process.

We believe every possible measure should be taken to provide frontline operators in today's dynamic and rapidly changing world with the technology they need to help keep themselves and others safe.

Our Vision:

We offer fast and flexible solutions to the technical challenges of public sector organisations.

We are specialists in software-centric systems, with deep expertise in developing capabilities for constrained networking environments or with challenging cyber security requirements.

But the Rowden difference is as much cultural as it is technical:
'what we do' and 'how we do it' are equally important. We are specifically organised to create and sustain pace, reduce waste and inefficiency, and drive better outcomes. You'll see and feel t
