Assistant Accountant

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our construction client who are industry experts are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their fast-growing team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This job would suit someone with previous accounting administration experience, to be a part of the business' accounts team and assist with administrative support to all finance areas of the business.

This role will report directly into the Financial Controllerand will play a key part in the smooth running of the finance team.

You will be a key point of contact for internal stakeholders for all finance related queries.

The successful individual will have strong attention to details and will be commercial minded with the ability to multi-task, prioritise tasks and work autonomously.

Good excel and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Duties will include:

Tracking spend on company credit cards, ensuring compliance with processes, and making postings into accounting software
Maintaining sales invoice listing, chasing overdue debt, reporting internally to stakeholders
Analysing areas of expenditure and producing reports to be used for internal purposes and external tax reporting
Assisting with carbon reporting on a monthly basis
Business partnering with senior management
Assisting other key senior stakeholders in the business with adhoc analysis
Adhoc tasks for the FC and FD
