Job Title:
Individual Giving Officer


Reports to:
Head of Fundraising and Marketing


Job purpose:

To raise funds for the charity by developing and stewarding individual giving to generate significant long-term sustainable income. This will include appeals, regular and online giving and other initiatives as required.


Key Accountabilities

  • To raise funds against agreed annual targets and grow income year on year
  • To work with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing to develop fundraising targets related to unrestricted income and specific projects
  • Developing and implement plans that grow bibic's individual giving income
  • Managing growth of bibic's individual giving supporter base through inspiring and engaging initiatives and activities using effective fundraising techniques
  • To produce and update fundraising materials that encourage support of bibic
  • Providing excellent stewardship to all supporters, developing supporter journeys that build relationships, grow their connection to bibic and keep them engaged in what we do
  • To ensure that all bibic donations are properly recorded onto the CRM and thanked
  • To develop and maintain records of all work within GDPR including donations and supporter relationships and provide reports and background information as required
  • Maintaining accurate income and expenditure records for all individual giving
  • To work with the marketing team to use social media effectively to engage new supporters and celebrate success
  • Ensure work reflects all Charity Commission and Fundraising Regulator guidance and is carried out within the current data protection legislations
  • To work collaboratively with a range of external organisations and partners, representing bibic as necessary
  • To adhere to the due diligence requirements of the role
Individual Giving

  • Develop an annual support communication plan for all existing supporters that maps out a communications timeline from the charity
  • Take responsibility for the recruitment and welcoming of new regular givers to bibic through testing acquisition products, channels and messaging
  • Manage the process of developing and implementing effective stewardship of regular givers including welcome process and reactivation process
  • Managing relationships with external suppliers to fulfil any regular giving activities
  • Ensuring all individual giving activities are delivered to budget and meet agreed targets
  • Providing monthly reports for the Head of Fundraising and Marketing on all individual giving including new donors and attrition
  • Input into strategic direction of individual giving and budget planning to grow income from individual supporters
  • Devise and manage all appeals three per year, creating a campaign schedule and action plan for each one
  • Model excellent stewardship of donors and work with colleagues across the organisation to maximise giving opportunities
  • Attend any relevant giving events to recruit new donors to monthly giving schemes
  • Make proactive contact with families who have signed up to hearing from bibic's fundraising team

General Requirements

  • Work with the Family Services and Therapy teams to ensure their work is accurately reflected in all that you do
  • Policies and Procedures ensure that all bibic's Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Best Practice adhere to the highest standards of individual giving fundraising best practice as set out in the Fundraising Regulators Fundraising's Code and ensure that all activities comply fully with General Data Protection Regulation obligations and any other legislation.
  • Confidentiality acknowledging the need for professional sharing of necessary information with relevant parties, maintain a strict confidentiality of information both internal and external.
  • Performance participate in regular supervisions and annual appraisal with the Head of Fundraising.
  • Be available to support the wider fundraising team at events and fundraising activities

Other duties

  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the MD or Trustees.
  • To promote bibic's good name, and an effective working relationship, with outside organisations.
  • To work outside office hours, travel, and make overnight stays when required
  • A 'handson' and 'cando' attitude.
  • The post holder needs to demonstrate the maturity to manage a wide range of relationships in a positive manner and therefore able to command the respect of fundraisers, marketing and others from all departments.
