Group Accountant - Hybrid

Oxfordshire


This hybrid role would require the Group Accountant to be in the office 2 to 3 days per week, and provide accurate recording, and reporting of accounting information whilst supporting continuous improvement to ensure smooth processing of transactions.


Responsibilities of the Group Accountant:


  • Consolidate the Management Accounts for all divisions and produce reporting pack for Finance and the senior leadership team
  • Account for 'Group' entities
  • Work with Finance managers to identify trends, issues, or opportunities to support management decision making
  • Lead the Group annual budget and periodic reforecast processes
  • Provide support in the annual audit of Group entities
  • Production of month end management accounts for central Head Office overheads in line with agreed time frames
  • Ensuring effective management of accounting information held within the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
  • Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are up to date with robust working papers and reconciling items are investigated and resolved.
  • Monitoring deviation from budget, investigating and commenting on variances. Chair monthly finance review meetings with budget holders

Requirements to be successful as a Group Accountant:

  • Qualified accountant, part qualified approaching qualification or QBE
  • Able to produce accurate and timely reporting, whilst being able to understand the underlying dynamics of the business
  • Experience of producing management accounts and working with budget holders
  • Strong ERP system knowledge, ideally experience of MS Navision with proven ability in delivering insightful analysis
  • Excellent experience of Excel
  • Great communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire
  • Full driving license required, should travel to other sites be required.
