Radiology Department Assistant/Administrator

40 hours - Monday-Sunday, weekend and evening cover required.

Our opening hours are as follows however, these may be adjusted slightly to meet the needs of the business:
Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 20:00

Late Night Clinic Tuesday and Thursday evenings 21:00

Weekends ( Saturday & Sunday): 07:30 - 17:00


Additional hours could be available to assist with the cover of the department in the event of sickness and annual leave.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

ROUTINE DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS:


  • To deliver a high quality of diagnostic imaging to all service users, ensuring clinical safety and facilitating a high standard of patient care.
  • To support Radiographers with Coil Changes and preparing patients in MRI.
  • To assist with monitoring stock and supplies in the department.
  • To participate in Clinical Audit.
  • To develop and maintain radiology procedures in conjunction with radiologists, radiographers, and other clinical staff as necessary.
  • To allow patients to be examined in a safe environment, to implement safety awareness in MRI, and Radiation protection and ensure that untoward incidents are reported
  • To send patient reports to their nominated healthcare professional in a timely manner and resolve any queries should they arise.
  • Accept and perform nonradiographic duties within the department, e.g., making appointments, answering phones, and performing routine office duties.
  • Be always punctual and of smart appearance.
  • Promote a pleasant and caring attitude within the department and hospital.
  • In common with all employees to have a responsibility for health, safety and welfare of self and others in the working environment. To adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures that are nationally or locally implemented to ensure a safe working environment is achieved by yourself and other members of staff.
  • To work within the IR(ME)R 2000 regulations.
  • To keep up to date with current techniques/legislation.
  • Awareness of Clinical Governance issues in relation to patient care.
  • Accountable for their own actions.
  • To have a flexible approach to all Rota duties within the team responding to service needs and to be available for extra shifts to help cover annual leave and sickness.
  • Undertake mandatory training.
  • The ability to deliver a pleasant and caring attitude to all our patients
  • To understand and show responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self, and others in the working environment.
  • To adhere to the health and safety policies that are nationally and locally implemented to implement a safe working environment.

Salary:
