Description

Reed Executive Search are currently working on a retained basis with an international manufacturing business who are now looking to recruit a General Manager to oversee all UK operations.

This position is directly responsible for the commercial and operational functions of warehousing and distribution, sales, marketing, customer service.

Finance, IT and HR are also contained within the organisation, but these have a degree of control andgovernance provided within the Group Organisational structure.

Present headcount is circa 30.


Reporting to the UKI Managing Director, duties of this position include:

  • Ensuring the continued development and improvement of the business outputs
  • Managing the P&L and balance sheet
  • Defining and driving an ambitious and detailed strategy and business plans
  • Driving sustainable growth, including building credible relations with key customers, and implementing a differentiated and integrated gotomarket approach across product management, sales and marketing
  • Ensuring efficient and safe supply chain operations
  • Leading, engaging and developing the organisation, and positioning themselves as a credible and trusted leader for people on all levels and location in the organisation
  • Aligning and integrating corporate practices and policies in the ways of working in UK
  • Experience from a similar position managing a P&L in a comparable operating model
  • A relevant educational background
  • A track record of driving sustainable growth in companies with mature endtoend commercial operations
  • Experience in optimising effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis
  • An understanding of the relevant building materials/construction market, key customer segments, competitors, and ideally also relevant authorities
  • Experience in successfully leading engaging and developing a similarsized organisation, and experience leading at least 20 people
  • Experience with performance management, including how to effectively cascade and follow up on KPIs and results
  • A track record of continuously improving top and bottom line results
  • Strong leadership competencies
