They are looking for an experienced Rent Collections Officer to manage a portfolio of current rent arrears cases in an efficient and effective manner.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Minimise the total indebtedness relating to rents and other tenancy charges
- Manage a portfolio of current customer rent accounts and other tenancy charges in line with the Income Collection and Recovery policy and procedures
- Support customers with Housing Benefit claims where possible; including assisting customers in drawing up financial budgets and offering guidance on reducing their liabilities
- Work closely with money advisors, Credit Unions and related individuals and organisations
- Responsible for instigating legal proceedings in line with the Income Collection and Recovery policy when arrears cases have reached the appropriate recovery stage
- Arrange and manage the eviction process and ensure that any goods left in the property are dealt with in accordance with policy and procedures
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a similar public service environment
- Experience of issues relating to the delivery of housing management services
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Experience of rent arrears management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
