About the role:


As the
Digital Education Advisor, you will plan, develop and create e-learning material for a range of courses and curriculum.

The role will also support the ongoing learning technology systems of the College to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.


You will ensure the quality and standards of teaching and assessment material are high and help transform the curriculum and move it to a model that embraces online learning.


Responsibilities as our Digital Education Advisor will include:

  • Developing, with academic staff, the provision of online self-study materials
  • Extracting and analysing data using SQL
  • Providing support, advice and guidance to curriculum staff in the preparation of courseware for online production
  • Providing 'content editing' services where curriculum staff are unfamiliar with converting traditional material for online use
  • Liaising with Curriculum leads, reporting updates and issues
  • Supporting curriculum staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to align new teaching materials with current and emerging technologies
  • Project managing the production timeline for online courseware to support the smooth running of the production schedule
  • Entering into collaborative/project working with other Digital Education staff and with curriculum areas
  • Staying abreast of the changes in how learning technologies are used across the sector and identifying opportunities to develop products with commercial value to the business
  • Providing daily support to college learning environments including supporting staff and students with ad hoc library and IT support requests as required.

As our Digital Education Advisor, you'll
ideally have:

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of learning technologies including the use of virtual learning environments and a selection of content creation tools
  • Knowledge of VLEs and other digital education resources.
  • Knowledge of HTML, SQL, CSS and JavaScript
  • Proven experience in preparing and designing multimedia resources, including content editing and supporting the storyboarding process
  • The ability to make decisions which are informed by dialogue and debate
  • A keen personal interest in technology
