NHS Lanarkshire are looking for a Band 2 phlebotomist to join the team at Hunter Health Centre. This is a full time, permanet position.

Shift Pattern - 7 days dayshift/backshift


The post holder will be required to collect blood samples by venepuncture or capillary route from Locality patients within the Health Centre, GP Practices and Hospital.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB:

  • A certificate in venepuncture is essential.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Require intensive onetoone supervised training for an initial period of three months and regular updating of skills thereafter.
  • High awareness of Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Manual dexterity essential.
  • Maintenance of CPR training.
