Description

NHS Lanarkshire are looking for a Band 2 phlebotomist to join the team at Hunter Health Centre. This is a full time, permanet position.

Shift Pattern - 7 days dayshift/backshift

The post holder will be required to collect blood samples by venepuncture or capillary route from Locality patients within the Health Centre, GP Practices and Hospital.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB:

A certificate in venepuncture is essential.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required.
Previous experience preferred.
Require intensive onetoone supervised training for an initial period of three months and regular updating of skills thereafter.
High awareness of Infection Control policies and procedures.
Manual dexterity essential.
Maintenance of CPR training.
