The post holder will be expected to work with a flexible approach, maintaining confidentiality at all times when dealing with service user/staff information.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills, strong organisational and time management skills and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

We are transforming our Administration and Clerical support across the service. We currently have a full time vacancy for Patient Appointment Centre Clerk based at Norris Green Community Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Admin and Clerical team.


The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive administrative and clerical service to an excellent standard, ensuring a high level of accuracy within the Patient Appointment Centre across the Mental Health Care.

The post holder is expected to work closely with the team working with the minimum of supervision to co-ordinate his/her activities to ensure that an efficient service is provided.


He/she will be able to demonstrate flexibility and use own initiative to carry out duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the clinical team to utilise their time in an efficient and effective manner.


Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside.

We also provide community physical health services in

Liverpool, Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

You will be responsible for answering the telephone to patients with queries ensuring all clinics have the correct outcome for each patient and facilitating reminder calls to patients to attend clinic.

This role involves making patient appointments and keeping good communication with colleagues at all levels.

Excellent organisational skills and punctuality are a requirement of the role.
