Director of IT Services - Hampshire - £56,600 per annum - plus benefits - Permanent
Are you an experienced Director of IT or Head of IT? Have you gained any experience within the Further Education or Higher Education sector? Do you have experience of working across multiple sites?


As the Director of IT Services, you will have direct reports and be accountable for delivering effective, accurate and timely IT strategies.

You will be responsible for managing and ensuring highly effective systems and procedures run efficiently with mínimalerrors and maximum efficiency.

You will also be responsible for providing strong leadership to the IT Support and Services teams, as well as managing external partners.

You will be a self-starter and be able to reach well informed and clear decisions. You will hold excellent organisation, communication, and administration skills.

Some of the Key Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • To oversee, direct, develop, lead, and manage all operations, functions, strategic planning, financial planning, and all other aspects of the IT Services department
  • To continuously develop, update and report on the IT Services Strategic Plan
  • Ensure IT systems, operations and team members are motivated and engaged
  • Create, establish, and enforce IT policies and procedures to support the implementation of strategies
  • Performance manage and develop skills and attributes of direct and second line reports with a view to continuously improving IT delivery
  • Challenge the IT business strategy constructively when appropriate
  • Act as the primary point of contact
  • Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify any issues
  • Ensure there are high standards of Cyber Security and Information Governance that achieves a minimum annual certification of Cyber Essentials Plus

You must come with the following experience:

  • A degree-level qualification in an IT related discipline or equivalent Industry Certificates
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a role like this job specification
  • Experience in designing, administering, and developing an Active Directory domain forest across multiple sites
  • Extensive, specialist, knowledge of Microsoft Server operating system software
  • Extensive, specialist, knowledge of Active Directory creation, development, and administration in large user base organisations (10,000+ user accounts)
