Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.
We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday and potentially shift work and weekends in the future.There are 2 positions available, 1 full time and the other for 22.5hrs. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
You will be educated to a minimum of SVQ level 3/HNC and committed to working towards an HND in Biomedical Science or in possession of biological science HND or equivalent qualification.
Excellent communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work as part of a team, using your own initiative when working alone, basic computing skills and commitment to meet the NHS Scotland Healthcare support worker induction standards and code of practice.
Knowledge and experience of Biochemistry laboratory work is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
