Position

The Cooling Systems team are based at Gaydon as part of the Powertrain System Engineering Group working within the Powertrain Engineering function.

In conjunction with the platform Lead Engineers for Cooling Systems the role will involve development of system package and component design detail to allow component release within the framework of the Product Creation and Development System.

Key Responsibilities

Develop component package and detailed 3D design to support quotation process.
Develop CAD model to the standard required to support CAE analysis by the CAE team.
Develop detailed CAD designs for new cooling system components that meet package and functional targets, complying with design specifications and guidelines.
Complete 2D detailed drawings to support system/component release

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

CATIA V5+ / TeamCenter / Digibuck.
Familiarity with vehicle installation requirements & powertrain functionality.
Good communication skills are essential to support a good working relationship with the Lead Engineers and key suppliers to allow the component package and design to be developed efficiently.
CATIA v5 experience.
Experience of component packaging/modelling and detailed design

Preferred:

Able to manage workload and work independently.
Knowledge of cooling system component design or development.
Knowledge of the vehicle manufacturing process is advantageous but not essential.
TCE (Team Centre Engineering) experience within an OEM organisation.
Catia V6/ENOVIA toolset knowledge an advantage.
Knowledge of the JLR Product Creation and Development System.

Education
Degree qualified in relevant discipline.
