Manufacturing Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has an opportunity for a Finance Manager to assist the Financial Controller in the day today management of the finance function whilst also supporting the wider business through a period of increased investmentand development for a period of 6 months.


What will the Interim Finance Manager position involve?
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the key responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include:

  • Perform day-to-day management of financial accounts ensuring financial transactions are performed in compliance with company policies;
  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly forecasts and annual budget
  • Prepare accurate and timely month end reporting;
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations and support preparation of the weekly and monthly cashflow;
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and other financial issues and develop solutions to resolve, implementing effective improvements to processes where required;
  • Support submission of monthly VAT returns;
  • Support preparation of year end statutory reporting and tax submissions to group;
  • Reviewing and checking weekly payment runs & monthly payroll prior to submission;
  • Support annual stock take and periodic stock counts.
  • Applicants for the Finance Manager position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of working within a similar role;
  • Previous experience of reviewing existing processes and implementing effective change would be highly beneficial as would exposure of working within a manufacturing environment.

  • The role has the potential to be offered on a hybrid working basis once the successful applicant has settled in to the role;
  • Then position will be offered a 6 month contract basis.
