POST TITLE:
Sixth Form Learning Mentor





SALARY:
N4 £19,650 - £20,852 per annum (pro rata £16,627 - £17,644)

TERM:
January to July 2023


RESPONSIBLE TO:
Director of Achievement and Achievement Leader


In all aspects of the post the person appointed must implement faithfully and effectively the Aims and Policies of this Roman Catholic school and work collaboratively to ensure that the Christian ethos, standards of academic excellence and good behaviour are maintained and strengthened.
Training

All Academic Mentors have to complete either a 1 week (if they already have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or 2 week (Non

  • QTS) training course delivered online by Liverpool Hope University. This is a free online training course and Academic Mentors will be paid for their time whilst undertaking the course.
Main Duties

The following is typical of the level of duties which the post holder is expected to carry out.

It is not exhaustive, and other duties of a similar type may be required at the discretion of the Headteacher.

Work with small groups (typically groups of 3) or individual students, under the direction of a teacher, to enhance and extend students' learning, help them to catch up on missed work and support success in examinations

Assess the work of individual students and small groups of students', their participation in activities and other intervention programme, and provide regular feedback to the teacher/department

Promote and implement the School's policies in all aspects of employment and service delivery, especially those related to Safeguarding Children


Other duties that may be required from time to time
Attend and participate in staff training

Any other reasonable task requested by the Headteacher

This job description may be amended at the discretion of the Headteacher.
