Description

What you'll do:

This is a hybrid based role with occasional travel to attend meetings.

As a Finance Business Partner in Commercial, your primary role will be to work closely with the commercial team to drive financial performance and ensure that all decisions are made with a solid financial foundation.

You will be responsible for creating accurate financial forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities, and making recommendations based on data analysis to improve profitability.

In addition, you will partner with the commercial team to develop pricing strategies and evaluate the financial impact of new business opportunities.

You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting, provide financial insight to senior leadership, and support decision-making processes across the business.

Challenge and Support. You'll work with the commercial teams (from the Commercial Director and heads of buying through to category assistants) providing challenges and commercial insight to help drive real and tangible commercial benefits. Giving the business a competitive edge through optimised decision making.

Data & Insight. Affording reporting and insight to both financial and non-financial stakeholders (that bit is key) the business will look to you to deliver insightful, accurate, consistent reporting and analysis that supports strong performance. Most importantly you'll be adding value

Focus on insight and influence. Be able to work in a way that prioritises the influencing of decision making across the business. You will achieve this through driving a continuous improvement mentality for all processes and procedures to drive insights as efficiently as possible. You'll really try to connect with the business to help you to understand and influence at all levels.

What you'll bring:

You're an analytical genius who builds brilliant business relationships and isn't afraid to challenge stakeholders. You've got credibility and gravitas - but that's not all - you've also got the analytical know-how and confidence to know that your suggestions will work and add value

Experience. You'll be qualified in either CIMA/ACCA/ACA with at least 1 to 2 years PQE. You'll have held a similar position in a large FMCG, retail or fast paced growth business which would help you get to grips quickly but it's not a 'must have'

Commercial. You've worked in a commercial environment (sales and margin) and can show that you had a broad understanding of the business and the impact of your role.

Analytical. You can manipulate data with your eyes closed. Again, if you've got knowledge of analytical modelling techniques/LFL's/Profitability great, but don't worry if not - if you're successful you'll get to learn all this.

Yourself. Bring your whole self to work and let your true personality shine through
