Do you want to be part of a small, talented and ambitious team that's aiming to change the face of news in the UK? GB News are looking for motivated story producers, who are passionate about creating informative and engaging news programmes.


As a story producer you'd play an integral role in our output, ensuring we cover a range of stories that are of interest to British viewers, including politics, economics, crime, health and communities.


You will have strong editorial judgement, bring creative flair to your work and be able to work well under the pressures of the newsroom.

You will take ownership of a story/stories each day and ensure we are comprehensively telling them through a mix of production techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and produce high quality and creative, original daily news programmes.
  • Produce stories by writing scripts, checking facts, cutting video and commissioning graphics.
  • Ensure powerful coverage of breaking and developing news, live events and big stories.
  • Book compelling guests who represent a variety of views.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to cover the day's news agenda.
  • Ensure coverage adheres to the overall vision of the channel in line with our editorial standards.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience of live broadcast journalism, breaking and developing news; with appropriate production experience.
  • Strong journalistic skills backed up by a relevant qualification and news experience.
  • Work well under pressure in a newsroom environment.
  • Good knowledge of news and current affairs.
  • Understanding of OFCOM guidelines and excellent editorial judgement.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different news show shifts including some weekends.
  • High standard of written English.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
