Part Time Project Worker

Magdalene Court, Glastonbury

£12.50 per hour, effective from 1 April 2024

25 hours per week - 4 days per week on a 3 week rolling rota to include some Saturdays

If this sounds like you then we may have your perfect opportunity We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to be based at Magdalene Court in Glastonbury to make a real difference to the lives of our customers across a number of housing sites in Somerset.

Somerset Intensive Housing Management Services provide intensive housing management support to adults aged who have experienced homelessness.

The scheme consists of self-contained, single-occupancy, flats across six sites where our dedicated team support our clients to manage their tenancies and work towards moving on to live independently.


We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Providing house related support to ensure relevant support is provided to encourage our customers to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Managing health and safety responsibilities within a social housing environment
  • Assessing customers' needs, writing, and updating support plans
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the customers, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

Skills and experiences:


  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced
  • Some experience of working with clients with mental health and/or complex need
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
