IT Field Engineer (Band 5)

Field Based

£158 per day (Inside IR35)

3 Month Contract

Northampton, Northamptonshire (commutable from West Midlands, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire)

My Client are an NHS Trust with a base at Francis Crick House, Northampton and are seeking a IT Field Engineer on an initial 3 month contract basis (37.5 Hours) Paying £158 per day (£21.13 per hour) (Inside IR35).

Job Purpose

As part of the Field Engineering team you will provide a high level ICT Operational Support Service to the clients of Arden GEM CSU.

To deploy any computer based device to the customers desk, those being Laptops, Toughbook's, Tablets and other Mobile devices or Telephones.

To investigate enquiries providing assistance and advice as required to Arden GEM clients at a user level.

Provide 1st and 2nd line support to include initial logging of faults from customers, simple diagnostic testing and forwarding and appropriate work queue/ technician.

To actively assist in maintaining LAN and WAN infrastructure of customer organisations to ensure they have maximum availability.

To assist in the training of temporary IT staff or contractors, or allocate work to junior staff members within the IT department.

(I.e. new staff members).

Experience
Essential
Have an in depth knowledge of the following technical areas:

PC hardware architecture
Device Security
Hardware Configuration
Software Configuration
Asset Management
Network configuration
Server implementation
Mobile device deployment and personalisation

Desirable
- iPad and Android tablet configuration and Apps

Experience of Windows 8 Operating System
Supporting a Local / wide area network.
Capable knowledge of data networking and server technology within a Windows environment.

Qualifications
Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (4 years).
Demonstrable commitment to personal and professional development including willingness to undertake professional study.

Desirable

MCSE or CCNA Qualified
ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management
