We're looking for someone to join Your Place to make a difference in people's lives in East London. We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Supported Accommodation team

We are going through an exciting period of change and growth, having recently launched an ambitious strategic plan, with goals including having a positive impact on the lives of more people experiencing homelessness than ever before.


About the role


Based within the Supported Accommodation team, this role is responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high-quality, person-centred support service to residents with a range of medium to high needs.

They will be the principal providers of support to residents in service and will also work alongside Assistant Support Workers, to promote resident engagement through the development of positive relationships with our residents and contributing towards the promotion of a fulfilling, safe and inclusive environment.


Salary:
£26,000 - £29,000 per annum


Contract:
Fixed (12 months Maternity cover)


Hours:
Full time, 37.5 hours per week, rotating shift pattern from Monday to Sunday


Location:
Plashet, London


Other responsibilities include

  • To be responsible to the Team Manager for the daytoday delivery of the Supported Accommodation service.
  • Use motivational and asset based interviewing techniques to interview, assess and create support plans and risk assessments that address the needs of residents.
  • Take a positive, traumainformed approach to working with residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Conduct regular reviews of support plans and risk assessments as required.
  • Take a proactive approach in multidisciplinary support required for residents.
  • Work within a Psychologically Informed Environment approach and strive to meet targets and deliver results.

About you


To be successful in this role you will need to have a demonstrable level of experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with vulnerable women with complex mental health, physical health, and substance misuse support needs.

You must have the ability to manage your time and your workload, and the ability to manage positive outcomes for the client group.


  • Demonstrable experience within local authority, voluntary, independent, charity or social housing sector.
  • Good IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office packages).
  • An awareness of issues facing single people that experience homelessness or rough sleeping.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting supported housing and vulnerable adult groups.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and waking night shifts on a rota basis)
  • A full current driving license and a successful track record in developing services in response to changing needs and demands desirable but not essential.
