Your purpose will be:


The role of Host Supervisor is to manage all aspects of the 3 x host locations within the Food and Beverage Department.

This incorporates the Thames Foyer, American Bar and Beaufort Bar.

The senior host responsible for the greeting and seating of guests; answering phones; taking reservations; monitoring flow of room and ensuring cleanliness standards are maintained.

To assist the Leaders with delegations of duties, training and leadership within the Host team.


This role is also responsible to adhere to the allocated tasks by the Manager on duty in the various areas to ensure that schedules, training, vacations and all HR aspects of the hosts within the areas are managed and coordinated, to ensure that all areas have consistent coverage and manning, and that the colleagues in the host roles are aware of and knowledgeable of what activities within the hotel at all times.


You will be accountable for:


  • Delivering a memorable and professional 5 star service experience
  • Advising guests through enthusiastically sharing your knowledge about our F&B offering
  • Supporting a Host team on delivering all standards, policies and procedures to create memorable luxury guest experiences
  • Assisting management to oversee the service to ensure all standards are met and SOPs are followed.
  • To be in contact with our Opentable Account Manager; in case of any additional features, Senior Host to liaise with the Account Manager for introduction and training. Senior Host would be hold accountable for training the rest of the team.

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

  • Report to Manager at scheduled time, in correct uniform in accordance to the grooming standards.
  • Asking questions and being attentive when given instruction to ensure that as much information is received
  • Attend shift briefings proactively by listening and asking relevant questions
  • Managing the host/hostesses scheduling to ensure that all areas are consistently and appropriately manned and staffed
  • Promoting and ensuring all hosts attend the relevant training programs and training offered
  • All hosts to be cross trained in all other departmental host positions to allow flexibility with the scheduling
  • Managing the administrative aspects of the host team, scheduling, vacations, training, and performance management along with the management of the various departments.

  • Assisting other within the areas being an ambassador for teamwork
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu, in house activity and VIP's and all other information received during the briefing
  • To attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guest's needs and to remain in the bar at all times during service.
  • Professional engagement with guests displaying an understanding of service excellence Provide a warm welcome to our guests dining in our food and beverage outlets.
  • Open or close the outlet as required, including cashing off at the end of the shift.
  • Assist the restaurant MOD in taking responsibility for the restaurant during the shift, allocating team members their duties and monitoring the smooth running of the outlet from a host point of view.
  • Carry out training of new and existing team members as necessary, always looking for ways in which to improve processes.
  • Coordinate the hosts to cover breaks in the various outlets.
  • Assist the HOD in scheduling of hosts and vacation planning.
  • Coach members of the host team as necessary and assist the HOD with colleague reviews.
  • Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures when the situation arises.
  • To carry out additional tasks as instructed and by reasonable request from the leadership team.
  • Adhere to all Savoy policies and procedures as outlined by the hotel.
  • Be an active colleague of the Savoy team in our mission of 'Turning Moments into Memories' for our guests.

What you will need to do in this role?

Essential:


  • 23 years serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Passion for and understanding of 5 star hospitality and
