Citi Global Wealth (CGW) is an integration of Citi Private Bank and the Consumer Wealth organization into a single platform enabling Citi to serve its clients across the wealth spectrum and capitalize on Citi's industry leading capabilities to supportthe goal of CGW, which is to be the leading wealth management provider globally.

As we embark on this journey, it is imperative to have a strong Risk & Control framework, supporting this goal through an independent but integral Internal Control organization.

This role is responsible for the management of issues, manager's control assessment (MCA) monitoring, and risk and controls reporting activities across the CGW organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for leading the internal business control teams; working with leaders and business/functional leaders to ensure control policies and practices provide continuing value to the organization and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory& policy requirements.
  • Accountable for audit and exam management, issue management, change control, regulatory/policy adherence, and 3rd party vendor audit and resolutions.
  • Ensures requirements are identified, implemented, and monitored and that identified issues are remediated.
  • Execute of independent monitoring and testing of regional, business & product, and other functional CGW risk controls.
  • Holds the team and issue owners accountable to ensure selfidentified issues meet the established IBAM (Issues Being Addressed by Management) criteria.
  • Create/manage a change control function that ensures that automation and operations changes are tested endtoend prior to implementation and that all changes are documented and approved.
  • Execution of analysis and reporting to identify trends, emerging risks, and actionable items in the risk and controls environment for CGW.
  • Development and production of key risk indicators and metrics to help CGW operate within its defined risk appetite.
  • Work with other control leaders to identify, leverage and implement best practices and processes across Citi to strengthen our control programs.
  • Leads discussions with functional leaders to resolve any conflicts regarding issue/remediation ownership.
  • Is responsible for ensuring consistent implementation of the MCA, alignment to common Key Operational Risks and Key Risk Indicators.
  • Applies knowledge of business products, processes and technology to identify opportunities for further strengthening of the control environment across the business.
  • Execute governance model and drive cultural change, embedding practices which mitigate risk of regulatory requirement failures.
  • Lead and drive gap analysis reviews against regulatory requirements; identify and close gaps.
  • Lead execution of "core" business controls including records management and continuity of business (COB), among others.
  • Proactive engagement with control functions to ensure understanding of the CGW governance program and Development of strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Focus on continuous control improvements across all areas to ensure continued improvement of the control framework in an efficient, cost effective, streamlined, and valueadd manner.

Qualifications:

years of Financial Services and analytical / control work experience

  • Strong understanding of relevant business processes and data segments including the ability to solve for a root cause rather than symptoms
  • Openness to challenge and continuously challenging the status quo
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner
  • Demonstrated leader capable of driving change
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, highly matrix, dynamic environment
  • Selfmotivated, highly adaptive, and able to work well under high stress
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree; experience in compliance, legal or other controlrelated function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; extensive experience in area of focus; previous experiencemanaging a diverse staff
  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) and certifications (CFA, FRM) preferred
