_Job Purpose_

  • Offer a sophisticated Commercial Banking service that caters to the unique needs of Owner Managed Independent Media Businesses with an expected target client value of £05m (but not limited to to this amount)
  • Develop and enhance relationships with both new to bank and existing HNW Clients' Owner Managed Independent Media Businesses
  • Provide effective lending and deposit solutions to meet the needs of such clients, building a profitable and sustainable portfolio which contributes positively to both sides of the AL commercial balance sheet
  • Work professionally and proactively to represent the Bank both externally and internally
  • Work closely with Private Bankers to encourage internal networks for the referral of business

_Key Responsibilities_

  • Primary relationship management responsibility for a discrete portfolio of commercial clients, serving as their strategic partner in the bank and acting as a gateway to other products and services
  • Meet new business development targets and ensure unwavering commitment to service excellence
  • Manage a portfolio of both assets and liabilities (including the management of a loan book)
  • Develop and present business cases and initiate credit proposals that match financial products to your clients' needs
  • Overall responsibility for your own risk and regulatory performance as a key member of the banking team, including the client acquisition process
  • Manage and develop an extensive network of external business relationships and introducers to acquire, develop and service SME clients
  • Work proactively with the Director, Commercial Banking to develop a strategic business plan for your area, including support in the development of Support staff

Person Specification

_Knowledge/Experience_

  • You will understand Commercial Banking with knowledge across the financial services industry and good knowledge of the commercial market in which you operate
  • Commercial Banking experience dealing with Owner Managed Independent Media Businesses is strongly preferred but not essential.
  • A proven track record in developing new business and growing a portfolio of commercial clients is preferred but not essential, however, showing an understanding of sources of business is key.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities required under the FCA's Certification Regimes, and Conduct Rules the role will be a Certified Person under Regulatory rules.

_Skills_

  • Good Interpersonal skills including Networking, Negotiation, Presentation, Influencing and Collaboration
  • Awarness of the required Business Development skills
  • An understanding of risk analysis and credit report writing skills, incorporating the ability to present effectively to Credit Committee in a way that inspires confidence and credibility is preferred but not essential.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint

_Qualifications_

Desirable:
Working towards banking qualifications ACIB/Chartered Banker or equivalent
