About the role


Our client is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Technical Lead to join a new team that will be focused on re-imagining and re-developing some core areas of the "My Accounts" area of their website, with the aim of improving self-service and client experience.

These include areas such as the landing page, holdings and investments overviews and account management.

This team will also help tie together a number of other logged-in journeys being worked on by various product teams.


Responsibilities

  • Acts as a single point of contact for the My Accounts technical implementation, governance and escalation for the delivery team
  • Establish the technical vision for the team and provide advice on how to design and build against this vision
  • Identifies obstacles, issues, decisions, dependencies and risks and helps the delivery team to overcome them
  • Look for opportunities to collaborate and improve overall technology outcomes for clients and colleagues, communicating with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Lead the team in defining and evolving the technical approach and coaching other developers within the team
  • Responsible for the successful operation and performance of the team
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the product and team's development workflow including for the quality, accessibility, security, performance and CI/CD processes
  • Ensure platform documentation is clear, consistent and can be easily consumed by all stakeholders
  • Line management responsibilities for the engineers within the team

About you

Experience

  • Experience of working with Cloud Native Technologies, in particular, AWS lambdas (JavaScript), InfrastructureasCode
  • Demonstrable experience developing Reactbased JavaScript SPAs using
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end to end testing tools and practices (e.g. Jest, Cypress, Backstop)
  • Understanding of Microservices & principles of RESTful API development, including structuring, documenting, versioning, testing and stubbing/mocking
  • Demonstrable experience of having successfully delivered a number of professional projects
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other developers
  • Experience with Agile methodology

Knowledge

  • Understanding of design patterns and objectoriented programming (OOP) model principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS (SCSS), JavaScript and Typescript.
  • Excellent working knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, in particular, React and
  • Fluent using Git (GitLab) and Pipelines.
  • Understanding CI / CD and Trunk Based Development.
  • Advocate of excellent development practices including accessibility coding practices.
  • Able to write, assist in writing or reviewing technical & architectural documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to explain and articulate complex solutions clearly to both technical and nontechnical colleagues.
  • Logical, analytical and methodological approach to problem solving.
  • Proactive, resourceful and able to use initiative.
