Due to significant success and expansion, this major multinational client is looking to expand one of the highest performing teams in the country


With a mind-boggling volume of transactional data coming through the business hourly, the Information Systems team have a very interesting and challenging job.

Dealing with one of the largest SQL estates in the world, this team could write the book on SQLServer.

Due to business needs, cloud technology doesn't fit the bill therefore a complex and exciting on-prem SQL estate has arisen to meet demand.


That's where this role comes in, as a member of the team you will be a technically minded and methodical "SQL Whizz".

Developing, performance tuning and optimising the database will be a large part of the role, broken up by fixing complex bugs and bottlenecks as well as tackling challenges that won't exist anywhere else.

You will have the chance to work alongside the best in the business, a fantastic opportunity to develop and fine tune the excellent SQL skills you already hold.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Participating in the development and maintenance of data centric solutions in response to varied business problems, principally utilising SQL Server.
  • Working alongside team members on multi developer projects.
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement, maintenance and housekeeping of databases and existing solutions.
  • Developing solutions in line with departmental standards, adhering to the development process.
  • Creating and maintaining relevant documentation.

Skill & Experience:


  • Extensive commercial database development experience.
  • Working with complex OLTP data models.
  • Advanced T-SQL and execution plan analysis skills.
  • Experience of software development within the gambling industry.
  • Extremely methodical with high attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server performance monitoring, query turning and SQL Server Internals.
  • Relish development and support of highly complex mission critical software.
  • Working in a team environment delivering high quality solutions.
