    We are constructing a stateoftheart underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite a unique multinutrient fertiliser along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing, and distribution.

POLY4 is our flagship multi-nutrient fertiliser product. Made from polyhalite, it contains four of the six macro-nutrients and many micronutrients that are essential to plant growth. It allows farmers to maximise their crop yield, increase quality and improve soil structure with one simple product.

Job Description:


  • Join us as a Mine Medic where you will implement the emergency response associated policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the Anglo American Crop Nutrients Occupational Health Department and Business needs.

Your duties will include;

Emergency Medical Response

  • Administer firstaid treatment and lifesupport care to sick or injured persons.
  • Make decisions quickly and have a clear effective communication pathways.
  • Participate in the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of emergency and urgent care involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform clinical duties commensurate with national clinical practice guidelines and AACN specific PGD's and guidelines.
  • Assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritise medical procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to senior clinical/physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
  • Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician's direction.
  • Make reasoned decisions regarding initiating, modifying or ceasing treatment or procedures and ensuring accurate documentation of decisions. Being accountable and responsible for clinical decisions made during the course of duty and seek senior clinical/occupational health physician advice where appropriate.
  • Immobilise patient for transportation on stretcher for ambulance/aircraft transport, using backboard or other spinal immobilization device.
  • Responsible as an autonomous practitioner using local care pathways when required.

Equipment

  • Maintain medical equipment and replenish firstaid equipment and supplies.
  • Operate/calibrate equipment such as external defibrillators and bagvalve mask resuscitators in advanced lifesupport environments.

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Ensure the prompt, legible and accurate completion of all patient and incident records, providing a full and accurate record of decision making in accordance with the Caldicott principles, current legislation and regulatory framework.
  • Participate in clinical audit and effectiveness processes as required including evaluation of clinical procedures, processes and instructions to ensure the highest standards of service are achieved in the interest of patient care. Where appropriate, make proposals for change to own working practices and policies within own working area.
  • Complete and submit all necessary reports and notifications as required to Operational project supervisors, Clinical, Health & Safety Dept etc.
  • Adhere to information governance, GPDR and confidentially.

Medical Surveillance

  • Carry out medical and health surveillance as scheduled and record findings. Escalate any anomalies.
  • Participate in the delivery of wellbeing initiatives.

General Responsibilities

  • Work closely and liaise with the Occupational Health Department Staff and Hygiene team members.
  • Participate in support of the Occupational Hygiene Program.
  • Take responsibility for own health and wellbeing, promoting the ongoing care of physical and mental wellbeing to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Maintain the security of the department and equipment.
  • Maintain individual scope of practice and professional registration as defined by current HCPC Standards of Proficiency
  • Paramedics.

Qualifications:


  • Professional registration as defined by current HCPC Standards of Proficiency
  • Paramedics.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Experience of using IT systems.
  • Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment.
  • Experience of working in Healthcare/Occupational Health.
