SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN School catering for students aged 11-19 years with a range of SEN needs

Location:
Hackney, East London

Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary:
£80 - £100 per day

The successful applicant will:

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Have a calm and consistent approach
Actively promote safeguarding and equality
Have the ability to work within a team as well as using own initiative to time manage work related tasks
Be able to liaise with parents and other professional and maintain a professional relationship at all times
Be able to follow guidelines for care needs such as hoisting, manual handling and administrating medications
Preferrable but not essential: Previous experience working with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), PMLD (Profound and multiple learning disorders) and MLD (Moderate learning difficulties)
Experience working in care, elderly care and nursing will also be considered

Duties:

Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition
Contribute to recordkeeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day
Communicate their knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff
Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations
Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
Provide teaching and learning support including the use of appropriate technical resources
Support students with SEN and additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
