SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN School catering for students aged 11-19 years with a range of SEN needs

Location:
Hackney, East London


Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary:
£80 - £100 per day


The successful applicant will:


  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a calm and consistent approach
  • Actively promote safeguarding and equality
  • Have the ability to work within a team as well as using own initiative to time manage work related tasks
  • Be able to liaise with parents and other professional and maintain a professional relationship at all times
  • Be able to follow guidelines for care needs such as hoisting, manual handling and administrating medications
  • Preferrable but not essential: Previous experience working with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), PMLD (Profound and multiple learning disorders) and MLD (Moderate learning difficulties)
  • Experience working in care, elderly care and nursing will also be considered

Duties:


  • Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition
  • Contribute to recordkeeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day
  • Communicate their knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Provide teaching and learning support including the use of appropriate technical resources
  • Support students with SEN and additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
