School Admissions Officer - Old Hall School

Full time, all year-round position.

Start Date:
August 2023

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Admissions Officer to work within our busy Admissions department.

Reporting to the Head of Admissions, this post will be based at Old Hall School and is full-time, all year round working 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday (some flexibility will be required).


Relevant experience of accurate data inputting in a busy environment, excellent computer literacy (Office and Excel) and accurate data input skills are essential, as are first class communication skills.

The role is fast-paced and will require an ability to work under pressure.


Duties will include but are not limited to:
Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Admissions in delivering excellent customer service to prospective and current pupils and their parents.
  • Representing the Admissions Team at key Wrekin Old Hall Trust events for prospective and existing pupils (onsite and offsite events).
  • Sending out literature.
  • Maintaining the admissions database, (RS/Metis) ensuring that it is fully completed and up to date.
  • Arranging individual visits and tours.
  • Arranging taster days for prospective pupils.
  • Welcoming prospective families to the school, attending meetings with them and the Head.
  • Taking prospective families and pupils on tours of the campus.
  • Use mail merge for letters, labels and envelopes.
  • Create XML and Excel reports from the admissions database for reporting.
  • Arranging and attending new pupil induction days.
  • Exporting pupil data to the MIS and scanning all paperwork.
  • Creation of files for all new joiners.
  • Administration of all starters and leavers, liaising with Telford and Wrekin Council.
  • Occasional minute taking.
  • Responsibility for front of house: flowers, literature, packs for visitors etc.

  • Wellpresented and calm.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proactive with a close attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working in a busy environment.
  • Well organized and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to deal with the complex as well as mundane tasks.
  • Highly competent user of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Engage and communicate well with a wide range of people.
