About the role
You will be part of a team managing and providing the highway asset management data across Highways. You will assist with the collection, management, analysis and dissemination of highway asset data.

This will include assisting with procuring and commissioning data collection from third party providers, technical and service input into procurement and commissioning processes.

The team will also provide accurate data to colleagues, insurance and lawyers including that regarding safety inspections, defects and their rectification.

What will you be doing?
The development and delivery of high quality asset management is vital to the future economic wellbeing of Cambridgeshire.

This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of highways asset data polices and practice.

The postholder will need to assist with the commissioning, collection and analysis of highway asset data and to ensure that the county's highways are inspected in accordance with defined policy and practice.


The postholder will work with the authority's team of Safety Inspectors and assist the Highway Assets Group Manager in driving cultural change, system changes and financial probity.

To assist the team in the technical aspects of day to day maintenance and management of highways assets. Supporting the delivery of all aspects of maintenance - reactive, cyclic and planned.

Provide information on condition of assets to stakeholders and provide technical expertise for reports and briefings.


Work with minimum supervision taking responsibility for organising your own works priorities within the parameters set by the team manager.


To support the Team Leader and other managers within Place & Sustainability in delivering the Council and Directorate's objectives, through joined-up service planning, community engagement and the flexible use of resources.
