Barnsley

£35,000 OTE £45,000 (Bonus, Overtime and pension)
- _Permanent Position, 40 hours a week Monday to Friday, _

Workshop Controller - Are you an experienced Workshop controller with an accident repair background looking for a new opportunity with a leading vehicle repairer?


Clear Automotive work in partnership with a leader in the accident repair field, and due to planned strategic growth, we now have a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced Workshop controller for the Warwick site.

This position is a crucial part of the team and requires an experienced accident repair professional who understands the workings of the site.


Job Details:
Workshop Controller


  • Plan and schedule the workflow for the bodyshop on a daily basis, with responsibility for 35 technicians, ensuring all vehicles are repaired and processed through the site efficiently.
  • Ensure all MET technicians, Panel beaters and Vehicle painters are aware of their work schedule and competent with repairs
  • The management and coordination of productive and support staff to ensure effective workflow of repairs to meet the volume, sales, cost and customer/quality targets.
  • Organise the body shop by controlling job start and finishing times and to be always aware of the status of each job, conducting daily progress meetings with body shop team members and reporting unexpected delays to the General Manager
  • Make sure all the body shop tools and equipment are in good working order, control all waste materials, power and control the heating, having overall responsibility for the security of the building and the equipment within it
  • The role is responsible for ensuring all incoming work is planned as well as managing the time and resource.
  • As a workshop controller, you will assign technicians, panel beaters, MET Technicians, Vehicle Paint Sprayers etc, to tasks ensuring productivity is maximised and that deadlines are adhered to.

Job Experience:

Experience of high volume accident repair management and scheduling (essential)

  • Deep understanding and experience of BS10125 regulations (essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of Thatcham repair methods
  • Relevant and upto
- date knowledge of vehicle design and manufacture, consumer and vehicle legislation, industry, and trade practices.

  • Experience in dealing with and resolving Health & Safety issues
