Reed HR are working alongside a large Educational Establishment based in East London who are recruiting for an experienced HR Business Partner on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 10 months.

This role is office based full time.


Job Summary

  • To take responsibility for delivering HRrelated aspects of the Trust's strategy to a designated school or schools, as well as the tactical delivery of operational aspects of HR.
  • To support the Director of HR in the provision of a high quality HR service to the Trust as a whole and to deputise as required.
  • To manage and develop the HR Advisor and to support and develop HR staff in new Trust schools, as directed by the HRD.
  • To support HR work across the Trust, including new schools joining the Trust, as directed by the Director of HR.
  • To support the Director of HR in trust wide work and take responsibility for a portfolio of Trust level HR projects.

1) General Responsibilities

i)Build strong and lasting relationships with key partners including SLT, line managers and Trade Unions.


ii) Develop and implement HR management systems, processes and standards to ensure HR information, policies and procedures are properly managed and implemented and best practice is shared across the organisation as required.


iii) Contribute to the development of the Trust's HR strategies, policies and procedures.


iv) Lead and manage operational HR activities, including:

  • (a) Employee relations _
- (b) Performance management _
- (c) Recruitment, selection and retention_
- (d) Payroll and HR administration _
- (e) Training and development_


2) Projects
i) Lead on Trust-wide projects, as directed by the HRD.

ii) Provide support in key areas such as:

  • (a) Assisting with the continuous improvement of our policies and procedures, undertaking consultation with relevant bodies as required. _
- (b) The annual appraisal and pay review process at designed schools _
- (c) Undertaking projects in support of Trust and HR strategies. _
- (d) Assisting schools to respond to and embed Trust-wide initiatives. _
- (f) Trust-wide recruitment and selection._

3)
Management Support and Development
i) Advise and influence managers as a trusted expert, balancing the needs of the Trust and individuals concerned.

ii) Coach managers in order to develop their people management / leadership skills.

iii) Identify, develop and deliver training / briefing sessions for managers on relevant HR processes, in coordination with the CPD lead.


4) Recruitment, Selection and Retention
i) Provide a timely and effective recruitment and selection service, including advice on Safer Recruitment, policy and procedure and good employment practice.

ii) Monitor and reduce costs through the use of innovative recruitment and attraction strategies.

iii) Work with the SLT Lead to facilitate an effective induction for all relevant staff.

iv) Oversee and support recruitment process end to end at designated schools.


5) Employee Relations
i) Advise managers at all levels on employment-related issues, working in partnership with SLT and other stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, effective and appropriate HR interventions.

ii) Manage and advise on risks to SLT, and particularly the Executive Principal, as well as the DHR.

iii) Provide leadership and guidance on issues relating to equality and diversity and actively seek to implement and promote the Academy's Equality Policy.
