About this client/child:
Ashan 14 is looking for a new Support Worker to join his already well established and incredibly loyal care team.
Ashan is very sociable He absolutely loves the interaction with those around him and his smile is infectious He loves listening to music, (making very loud sounds of his own along to his favorites), sensoryplay and going out for walksAshan has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Scoliosis, is non verbal and has a visual impairment.
His feeds and medication are given via Gastrostomy Feeding Tube.Overview of role:
On arrival from school you will support Ashan with his therapy exercises, personal care and extra circular activities. Ashan requires 2-1 support in all activities and daily living.
On weekends and holidays, as the hours will be longer there will be opportunitiesto take Ashan out in his adapted van on different types of outings.
After shower time Ashan, he will retire to bed at around 7.00 pm, and enjoys the chat from his support workers until he is ready for sleep.
The rota is completed two months in advance. Fridays,3.15pm to 9.00pm, (it is essential that the Friday shift is covered) Alternate Weekends, 09.00am to 9.00pm. There are always additional hours available during holidays. There is a separate entrance and kitchen facility.Who this job would suit:
