Our client, a well-known manufacturing company with 1,300 employees and 9 facilities worldwide, is seeking a
CNC operatorfor a permanent role in Pontypool.

CNC Operator

Location:
Pontypool

Contract:
Permanent

Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday, Days/Nights/Afternoons weekly rotation.

Salary:
£24,000 - £30,000 per annum inclusive of shift premium

Experience and skills will determine the pay range.

Higher rates will be paid for those with senior technical experience. These are dependent on the aligned skills and experience demonstrated at the interview and will be determined by the client.

Skills/ Experience:

Previous experience of operating CNC 4/5 axis metal milling machines and turning lathes is essential
Knowledge of CNC metal cutting and boring
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
Previous experience in a manufacturing/automotive industry
Experience in working in a medium/high volume production environment
Understanding of quality systems and completing quality checks/gauging
Able to work with mínimal supervision

Key Duties:

Effective operation of CNC machines
Carrying out full/ partial changeovers including problem solving for accurate production
Run and validate programmes for production
Provide machining support and troubleshooting; escalating when required
Supports engineering and projects as required
Responsible for monitoring product quality via visual inspection and/or via gauge measurement
Monitor and record production output vs target and record any downtime and rejects
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and machine availability
