What you'll be responsible for:


  • Audio type letters relating to clinic appointments, test results, rereferrals and discharge summaries
  • Assisting with incoming calls, dealing with queries where appropriate and acting as a filter system in passing calls on to the appropriate qualified person to address any problems
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing mail as appropriate
  • Work closely, with the support medical secretaries and medical secretaries, in supporting clinical activity by undertaking a range of clerical and secretarial duties.
  • To work within the Directorates core principles and Standard Operating Procedures. As a Directorate we are working towards common working practice for all our secretarial staff

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:


  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • NHS System Knowledge
  • Lorenzo (desirable)
  • Previous experience in similar role
