We are excited to be able to offer an Administration apprenticeship opportunity working within the Oncology Department based at the Nottingham City Hospital Campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will work alongside the team providing support in a range of duties including working on reception, answering telephone enquiries, booking patient appointments, sorting post, general filing, electronic scanning of documents and updating records as well as other general office duties.

You will need good communications skills and will be supported to develop lots of new and current skills including; prioritisation, attention to detail, using your own initiative and the ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with good organisational skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable.

You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will present a professional and polite attitude at all times. You will learn and develop skills using Microsoft Office and NHS systems.


This is a 15 month fixed term apprenticeship and you must be committed to work towards a level 2 in Customer Service.

As an employee we will be committed to ensuring that a structured plan is in place to support and enable you to complete your apprenticeship.

  • Functional skills level 1 in English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent)

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
