Cancer Support Specialist - London, United Kingdom - Maggie's
Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Cancer Support Specialist to join the team at our Royal Free centre on a full-time basis.
You will have a nursing degree (or equivalent training), current state registration and at least three years' post-qualification experience within an oncology nursing or related setting.
You will have a warm empathic manner, enthusiasm flexibility and willingness to develop skills of providing cancer support in an innovative programme, which integrates contributions from a range of professional disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Help individuals, families and groups engage with, and utilise, Maggie's psychosocial programme of support through ongoing work with them.
- Provide personfocused, care support and a commitment to working as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure appropriate internal referrals of centre visitors.
- Lead on delegated aspects of facilitated psychosocial and psychoeducational components of Maggie's programme.
