Lead on and deliver number of youth activities - boxing, football and general youth club /retreats.
Key responsibilities:
- Take day to day responsibility for updating assessments and plans
- Provide individual support to young people
- Facilitate and lead on group sessions
- Be responsible for formulating and implementing our summer youth programme.
- Work flexibly, including evenings and some weekends (20 hours per week)
General Responsibilities:
- Support young people to reflect on progress and achieve good outcomes
- Identify, support and prepare young people to participate in other participation opportunities within the community.
- Identify, support and prepare young people to participate in youth provision beyond this Project to steer policy, plans and reports
- Have the ability to support, challenge and actively involve young people, families or professionals appropriately and successfully support processes to match young people to volunteer mentors
About you:
You will need to be able to:
- Work creatively and flexibility
- Be values driven and offer relational support
- Be available to young people to discuss worries, celebrate achievements and have positive impact on their life
- Identify the needs of young people after referral and hold a caseload of young people who require support
- Engage young people, understand their starting points, and support them to take ownership of their hopes and plans
- Keep accurate records especially relating to the safety and wellbeing of young people and capturing their progress and achievements
- A creative and determined individual who is passionate about doing the right thing for young people.
- You want to work with young people on their realities and recognise their feelings, strengths and choices.
- You have a strong sense of your own identity and want to reassure young people by building stable relationships
- You believe in young people and you want to empower young people to gain the skills and selfbelief they need to redefine their futures.
