Tempting Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a

local authority in

North West London, to recruit an experienced

SEND Case Officer. If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,


Contract: 3-6 months (Possible Extension)

Salary:
£25 p/h (Umbrella)

Start Date:
April/May 2023

Shift Pattern: 37 hours / Full-time 9:00am - 17:15pm

DUTIES

  • To be responsible for drafting of individual, highly professional Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) within agreed timescales.
  • To lease with parent/carers over the statutory process, draft EHC plans, attend coproduction meetings with parent/carers, young people and education setting staff.
  • To be responsible for seeking SEND placements at appropriate schools/education providers and facilitate these placements.
  • To monitor placements and attend annual and transition reviews, ensuring that the pupils' needs are met.
  • To advise parents, schools, colleges and settings on SEND processes such as statutory assessment, personal budgets, home to school transport assistance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • At least 2 years previous experience within a SEND Case Officer role or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of the SEND Code of Practice and Legislation.
  • Experience of working with Children and Young People with SEND and their families.
  • Ability to travel around the borough and further when service demands necessitate.
