Description

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, and confidential secretarial/administrative service to nurse led teams as well as providing cover to the Consultant team/clinical professional team in the absence of the PA.


The Assistant PA will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by, the PA/Support Manager to ensure that an efficient service is provided.


The post holder will be capable of the full administrative function within the team including organising Cardioversions (full training will be given), updating databases, typing of clinical letters, and be able to step-in to fill gaps, to ensure continuity of services.


It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role, and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.


  • Provide administrative support to nurse led teams, dealing with admin
  • Typing of clinical letters using the Winscribe system working knowledge and use of Winscribe essential
  • Closing of patient pathways and referrals
  • Knowledge of RTT pathways essential
  • Liasing with other departments/Consultants and other colleagues
  • Arranging OPD appointments
  • The main point of contact for Cardioversions
  • Updating of investigations databases/appointment databases
  • Patient contact/queries on the telephone
  • Working as a team member to ensure that targets are met

  • Act in accordance with the Trusts values and behaviours
  • Where applicable to participate in and provide data on the efficacy of treatment and specialties


Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to ensure that we provide equity of services across seven days of the week with a vision to achieve this goal by 2017.

This post may be reviewed in line with this plan and in some cases an element of weekend working may be required
