The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Personal Adviser in the Refugee/Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Team (UASC):

  • Hampshire County Council's Refugee/UASC team are committed to improving outcomes for young people from when they enter the UK. As corporate parents, we want all our young people to grow into confident adults and support them in making the transition into adulthood and independent living; we know that success will look different for each individual.
  • Working with young people in their transition to adulthood and independent living, you will have considerable experience of working with young people, and of liaison with other agencies in putting together support plans. You will demonstrate the ability to build relationships with young people, face difficult issues and deal with them sensitively, and to be a team player.
  • Although this is hybrid working, please note that travel is required as part of your role, as you will need to visit our young people at their home address to ensure they are managing with their transition into adulthood and living arrangements. This means that you will require a full driving licence and access to a car.
