Role:
Purchase Ledger Assistant - Finance, permanent, office based


Report to:
Accounts Assistant


Hours:
Full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

8:00 am or 9:00 am start time, some flexibility.


Salary:
£22,000 to £25,000 pa, dependent on experience and qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package, and annual bonuses.


Location:
Alderley Park, Macclesfield, SK10 4TG.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the financial team as our Purchase Ledger Assistant


Role and Responsibilities
As our Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be working with an experienced team of 3 who work well together to support one another to ensure all aspects of the purchase ledger is accurate and up to date in a timely manner


Key duties include:

  • Daytoday matching of purchase invoices to purchase orders, reconciling accounts, chasing timesheet completion, and preparing relevant reports.
  • Processing accounts payable invoices using the IFS system, performing supplier statements reconciliations and dealing with queries.
  • Processing expenses, performing data analysis and reporting.
  • Fixed assets approving additions and running depreciation reports
  • Performing work to an exceptionally high standard, within specified timelines
  • Consider process improvements.
  • Assisting with processing sales invoices.
  • Liaise with auditors as required.
  • Dealing with price and quality differences with purchasing department, liaison with stores and purchasing for the booking of goods and services.
  • Running and organising BACS run and foreign payments.
  • Other adhoc financial duties will be integral to the role and support to cover annual leave.

Skills & Competencies (essential)

  • Working knowledge of accounting software and basic accounting skills, and able to demonstrate purchase ledger experience.
  • Good written and oral skills, proficient using Microsoft Office package including Excel skills.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, keen to develop and learn, flexible approach and able to make a positive contribution to the success of the team.
  • Highly selfmotivated and personable with a reliable and enthusiastic approach.
  • The ability to work as part of a strong team or independently when required.
  • Able to communicate effectively within a team environment and with suppliers.
  • Possess meticulous attention to detail, performing work to an exceptionally high standard, and highly organised.
  • The role would be ideal for someone who has handson experience within a fastpaced, highvolume environment.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), English and Maths.
  • This role may suit a recently qualified graduate.

Desirable but not essential

  • 2 years plus experience working in an accounting environment.
