An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Surgical Triage Unit (STU) for a Clinical Support Worker to join a diverse and motivated team that is dedicated to the development of specialist clinical skills and the delivery of high quality and safe care.

STU receives surgical patients for assessment from GP practices, the Emergency Department, EMAS & other primary care areas.

It is a fast paced unit that specialises in Emergency General Surgery as well as reviewing Vascular, ENT and MaxFax patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


The CSW on STU is an essential part of the team, seeing the patient right from the beginning of their journey in hospital.

During a shift on STU, you could be involved in anything from taking bloods, completing admissions and taking observations to transferring patients to other wards, escorting them to scans and tests or looking after an acutely unwell patient.

Every day is different but each requires an individual who is able to prioritise effectively, communicate well and be confident in their clinical skills.

  • NVQ level 2 in Healthcare

  • NVQ / QCF 3 in Healthcare
  • Evidence of Professional Development
  • Cannulation and venepuncture competency
Experience

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
