Your new role

The Investment Compliance and Operational Risk Team at AustralianSuper is a first line business risk and control function, supporting the Investments and Finance & Operations Groups.

The team is a critical enabler of the Fund's international platform and works across areas such as; market abuse regulations and surveillance, best execution, trading advisory, information barriers, and many more.

Reporting to our Head of Fund Services, International,you will work with a team of 4 to;

  • Build, lead and develop the growing department
  • Take on expert duties advising internal stakeholders on operational risk, regulatory, compliance, control matters.
  • Lead incident investigations, manage escalations and advise on and oversee action plans and remediation efforts across the locations.
  • Partner with Group Risk (second line of defence) and other stakeholders within risk and compliance globally
  • Lead and oversee policy and frameworks changes impacting London / New York offices and colleagues
  • Develop appropriate reporting and insights for local management teams


This role is based on site at London King's Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund's global portfolio.


What you'll need
Culture is key at AustralianSuper, and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team
As a new seat within the Fund, you will need:

  • Significant leadership experience, managing growing teams, and other managers
  • A very broad compliance and risk background, working across a range of compliance teams
  • Experience within asset management and financial services
  • Excellent compliance (LOD1 and LOD2) experience in the UK and Europe
  • Handson approach
Additionally, stakeholder management exposure is key, working with C-suite, Group Executives and Board level officials within the Fund.
