Administrator within the Mission and Ministry Support Team

(Permanent Appointment)

Salary:
£25,200 per annum


Location:

Located at our Diocesan office in Stoke Gifford, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for the role holder and the Diocese.


Role Overview and Duties


This is an exciting time within the Diocese as we are collaboratively shaping a new vision and set of priorities for the coming years in a process called _Transforming Church.

Together_._ We want to understand what we do well, what we can change for the better and how to create a positive way forward together.

This role will be key in preparing for what the future brings.


The Mission and Ministry Support Team currently comprises 8 team members working across of range of administrative roles as well as outward facing training, coaching and development roles with the aim of offering support to the clergy.

In the coming months we are excited to be expanding this team further with 3 new Advisor roles and the Administrator will be instrumental in assisting them in their work.


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering these changes and support the new Advisor from the offset.

The duties will include;

  • Support the work of the Mission and Ministry Advisers, offering general administrative support.
  • Help design systems and structures to support a coaching scheme for the clergy of the diocese
  • Supporting the development of new forms of church around the diocese, administering engagement with a national scheme

The Organisation:

The Diocese of Bristol is the administrative area of the Church of England that covers Bristol and Swindon.

There are more than 200 churches in the Diocese, led by hundreds of clergy, and around 15,000 children and young people attend our 72 church schools.

So, in many ways the best description is that it is the Diocese is a family of the 30,000 or so Clergy, Staff, Parish Officers and Church attenders who work together with a common goal.

Desired Skills and Experience:


  • Experience and proven ability in designing and administering new systems
  • Strong proactivity with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously on your own initiative
  • A collaborative nature, working as a team, individually and in support of the Governance Manager
  • Meticulous with a passion for detail
  • Efficient, Resourceful and Organised
