The Finance Department of the Northern Care Alliance NHS FT has an opportunity for a motivated individual with relevant Accounts Payable experience to join the team as a Finance Assistant in the Financial Control section.

The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive and efficient Financial Control Service incorporating an on-line purchase to pay system.

They will follow pre-determined procedures, to monitor invoice queues, chase Service Mangers for approval, code invoices and assist with any invoice queries.

It also includes occasional cover of Cashiering duties.


The role will support the organisational aims and objectives by being flexible and responsive, and by ensuring that high quality support is delivered to the Team.

This involves working closely with colleagues in both Finance and at ELFs (East Lancashire Financial Services ) and the organisation as a whole.

You will also support the Finance department in processing manual payments on behalf of the Trust.

Ensure AP invoices in PIM flow through to the correct managers to authorise, deal with AP queries from Suppliers and liaise with ELFs to resolve any issues.

Provide cover in the absence of the relief Cashier and assist the Trust Cashiers when required.

You will be proactive and highly motivated with strong IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office. Excellent customer service and numeracy skills essential for working in a Cashiering environment.


You will also require a good understanding of an accounting function and should be able to plan your workload in order to meet deadlines.


You will be educated to GCSE level and it would be desirable for you to be studying for an accountancy qualification and have experience of working within a finance department.
