We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim's Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim's UK & Pilgrim's Food Masters).

Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.

As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation.

We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.

The Shared Services company includes a dedicated Continuous Improvement function, whose core responsibility is to drive positive business transformation across the business.

Reporting to the

Senior Buyer (Agriculture), we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for a

Buyer.

The Role

Responsibilities:

Support the Senior Buyer
Agriculture, generating system reports and provide analysis.
Deliver Cost reduction/control within defined categories of Agricultural expenditure.
Facilitate tendering and benchmarking processes (utilising e procurement) including contract negotiations.
Develop and maintain department purchasing processes.
Understand specific site issues and manage solutions or feedback Commodity Manager
Agriculture.
Review with sites regarding specific supplier issues.
Develop supplier improvement programmes.
Deputise for Senior Buyer
Agriculture when required

Measurable Outputs

Data analysis lead.
Cost avoidance/ cost saving targets
Signed off strategic plans for categories
Involvement within tender processes and subsequent success/result of project.
Successful simultaneous involvement/management of a defined number of procurement projects.

What You'll Need

An Agricultural Background.
Good knowledge of wider Agriculture.
Effective communicator who is confident in their ability and wants to grow their career.
A good team player and able to influence at all levels.
Driving License.
Strong IT skills (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
