£30,033 to £31,440 per annum plus 16% shift allowance and additional paid enhancements for working unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy CCTV control centre based at Ley Street, Ilford, which providing CCTV services across the Borough.


You will be responsible for carrying out CCTV monitoring duties for crime and disorder issues, anti-social behaviour and environmental crime, responding to incidents, reviewing, preparing and supplying CCTV footage in line with legal processes.

as well as responding to radio calls from Police, Enforcement Teams and Town Centre. In addition, you will undertake Parking Enforcement duties in bringing about compliance for identified parking contraventions.

The Control Centre operates 24 hours a day.

Therefore, you will be required to work all shifts, consisting of early, late and night shift, seven days a week on a shift rotation including weekends and bank holidays.

A shift allowance is payable and enhanced payments are made in respect of weekend and bank holiday working.


You will need strong communication skills when interacting with the police and other enforcement agencies, and the ability to work without supervision for long periods of time.

Most importantly, you must have excellent observation skills, be quick thinking, and able to use your initiative whilst reacting quickly and calmly during emergencies.

We are looking for someone with a strong team focus, good at problem solving and a competent decision maker.

Good computer skills and a willingness to gain a complete knowledge of the local area and camera locations is needed.


You must be able to maintain high standards of service delivery to residents, businesses, visitors and partners, delivering timely and professional responses, updates and communications, adhere to Council Policy and Procedure as directed by CCTV Manager, and be able to maintain up to date knowledge of CCTV Codes of Practice and associated legislation.


Full training and a continued programme of personal development will be provided, this will include SIA training in both CCTV and Traffic Management Enforcement and Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance).
